A letter home: Pretend you are a African-American teenager from the North visiting family members in either Mississippi or Alabama during the 50's or 60's. You are to write a letter back to your family about your experiences in the Deep South. This letter needs to be in first person, a young black teenager. Be sure that it is clear some of the challenges you are facing in the Deep South that you do not face in Indianapolis during this time period. Your letter should be at least 300 words. I don't feel comfortable writing this, so I hope someone else can.
