Which of the following inferences is best supported by passage (paragraph 5)? The Anglo-Saxon era ended in 1066 when William the Conqueror landed with his army in England and attacked and defeated the Anglo-Saxons to become the first Norman king of England. The Normans introduced the system of feudalism, under which land was divided among the nobility. Knights pledged their wealth and services to barons, who in turn provided use of the land. Constant warfare in the Middle Ages involved troops of heavily armed knights fighting each other. Given their role in society, knights enjoyed great social prestige in the feudal aristocracy system. It was during this time period that English writers produced romances about the legendary King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, with Sir Gawain and the Green Knight as one of the most highly regarded verse romances in English.

Which two lines in this sonnet use symbolism to describe old age? sonnet 2 by william shakespeare when forty winters shall besiege thy brow, and dig deep trenches in thy beauty's field, thy youth's proud livery so gazed on now, will be a totter'd weed of small worth held: then being asked, where all thy beauty lies, where all the treasure of thy lusty days; to say, within thine own deep sunken eyes, were an all-eating shame, and thriftless praise. how much more praise deserv'd thy beauty's use, if thou couldst answer 'this fair child of mine shall sum my count, and make my old excuse,' proving his beauty by succession thine! this were to be new made when thou art old, and see thy blood warm when thou feel'st it cold.
