Is poetry fiction or non-fiction and why?

Poetry isn't either fiction or non-fiction because It doesn't really fit into any of those categories, although certain elements of a poem could be regarded as fictional or historical. For example, a poem could be based on a historical event.

and the reason being is because she get me in trouble for the smallest things that i really don't be doing all the time it be my friends that's around me.and i love to do things that other people but when she get on my nerves i don't talk to no one i just sit there and do my work half the time.
