Why might a person be tempted to plagiarize or cheat?

Because that person procrastinated on that assignment until the last minute, therefore, with the little time they had left, they decided to plagiarize. That person decided that it is the only way for him/her to turn in that assignment on time. So they decided to do it. Another reason is that they are lazy to do the work. They want to spend time on other things besides school, for example, sports. They do not like school, and they do not like to waste time on it. The last possible reason is that they desire a good grade, so he/she does not get murdered/grounded by their parents or to achieve their careers in the future. To do that, they will do anything to achieve it, including cheating and violating the rules.

All in all, I understand why people tempt to plagiarize or cheat. It makes sense and is logical.
