I have a scar that is like an x marks the spot on the roadmap of my life. I was hiking during the summer. It was scorching hot and the sun was blazing down on me. I had my walking stick but I was alone. The area that I was hiking in was a place that I had hiked before, but I had never seen anyone there before. I am hiking up the steep rocky incline when I hear a rattle. At first I just ignored it because I didn't realize what it was but as soon as I realized I sprinted up the incline. I felt as though I couldn't go fast enough but as I started to increase my speed I fell and got cut my some broken glass. I thought no one ever went there but I guess I was wrong. I reached for my phone to dial 911 because it had seemed as though the cut may have severed an artery. As soon as I turned on my phone I started dialing 911 but my phone died right before I could call them. I felt as though I was going to die because there was no one there. I lay there bleeding so much. I ripped off one of the arms on my jacket to make a tourniquet. Alas I was saved by a couple of girls that came by. They called 911 and helped me down the hill. As I lay there waiting for the ambulance I remember the girls yelling at me to stay awake, just as I started to drift off. The next thing I know I am waking up in a hospital with a huge cast on my leg.
