What should happen if a parent is not able to fulfill these? 2. What is the difference between discipline, punishment, and abuse? Where is the line drawn? Is physical punishment (ex: spanking) ever appropriate? What are appropriate and effective methods of disciplining young children (birth-elementary school) vs older children (middle-high school)?
