Free points and story time! Okay so I have this ex-best friend and we were very close, she introduced me to this really nice, sweet, and cute guy and me and this guy fell in love- but what I didn't know was that they both liked each other-
So I'm over here trying to talk to him because he's been really distant lately and she starts going off about how I don't need his attention 24/7 and I'm trying to tell her that we don't talk at all, but she's not having it.
Turns out he was at her house.
Fast forward a few days, we decide to take a break. And I'd check up on him every now and then- see how he was doing, and he'd tell me he was doing better, and that he really wanted to get better for me.
Fast forward another few days. My best friend and her boyfriend break up. Coincidentally, me and this guy cut things off too, because he had feelings for my best friend, not me, and that he lost them when we took a break- so I got lead on.
At first I was like, oh okay cool, but then after thinking about it, I was really hurt. and I made the dumb decision to tell him that. I woke up to a bunch of angry messages from my best friend about how toxic and pathetic I was and how now this guy wants to take his life.
Fast forward another few days.
My best friend and this guy get together. And this guy told me he wasn't gonna be ready for relationships for a long time but he's dating her now and like they're serious. they make out in the hallways, he spends every night at her house, if he's not over there, they're FaceTiming, stuff like that
Fast forward another like...day.
Im chilling at my grandmas. My best friend texts me, and this girl had the AUDACITY to start bragging to me about how she did the nasty with the guy I was still in love with. So I run to the bathroom and start crying. In my grandmas house. Eventually, im just done. with both of them. I block him, block her (on snap), and walk out of the bathroom feeling like a baddie. I wake up the next morning, and I get angry text messages from my best friend. She says:
Im toxic, and pathetic
I never let her be happy
This guy was never happy with me, he was using me to forget her
And that she was done
All I could tell her is, "My priority is myself. I spent so long looking after you and this guy and forgot about myself. By stepping back, im letting you and myself be happy. I wish you and this guy the best, but hopefully im not as stupid as to let you guys back in again." and blocked her on everything I could.
Moral of the story: know your worth. and also, feel whatever you wanna feel. no one can tell you what you should be feeling.
Enjoy the free points :)

"the children's hour" by henry wadsworth longfellow between the dark and the daylight, when the night is beginning to lower, comes a pause in the day's occupations, that is known as the children's hour. i hear in the chamber above me the patter of little feet, the sound of a door that is opened, and voices soft and sweet. from my study i see in the lamplight, descending the broad hall stair, grave alice, and laughing allegra, and edith with golden hair. a whisper, and then a silence: yet i know by their merry eyes they are plotting and planning together to take me by surprise. a sudden rush from the stairway, a sudden raid from the hall! by three doors left unguarded they enter my castle wall! they climb up into my turret o'er the arms and back of my chair; if i try to escape, they surround me; they seem to be everywhere. they almost devour me with kisses, their arms about me entwine, till i think of the bishop of bingen in his mouse-tower on the rhine! do you think, o blue-eyed banditti, because you have scaled the wall, such an old mustache as i am is not a match for you all! i have you fast in my fortress, and will not let you depart, but put you down into the dungeon in the round-tower of my heart. and there will i keep you forever, yes, forever and a day, till the walls shall crumble to ruin, and moulder in dust away! which literary device does longfellow use most frequently in the poem? a. simile b. metaphor c. repetition d. personification
