Read the passage. One Indy 500 event is the Indy 500 Festival Parade. A group of reporters are credited with getting the parade started. They saw that the Kentucky Derby, a horse race, had lots of events. So, they wrote several articles saying how their car race, the Indy 500, needed events too. As a result, the Indy 500 Festival Parade began. Now, every year, cheering fans line the parade route to watch this annual event.
