The Japanese start-up company SkyDrive Inc. shows the eVTOL craft prototype. The SD-03 is made of carbon fiber, aluminum and other materials and resembles a hydroplane on skis. It utilizes four pairs of coaxial rotors that are electrically operated, with one pair mounted on each quadrant. The craft can fly at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour for 5 to 10 minutes and has a lightweight design, says Nobuo Kishi of SkyDrive. SkyDrive has introduced a drone based on the same drive and power systems as the SD-03 for commercial use.
