Can someone please para-phrase this? I don't think the question at hand is whether or not we need to uphold the right to free speech - fake news can only realistically be censored when defamation crosses the line into slander or libel, in which case legal action can be taken against the guilty party, in which case those affected will be forced to prove that the news was inaccurate, at which point the whole thing will be resolved anyway - but rather we should be talking about how active a role government should play in elections. To limit the scope of somebody's research is to force them to access certain outlets of information. Even if that is done with the intention of properly informing voters, it is still voted manipulation. I believe the government should stay as uninvolved in the election process as is possible, and so I will advocate against the censorship of fake news sources. Fake news is not dangerous to a democratic society; the government's involvement in elections is.

Read the excerpt below from the poem "exile" by julia alvarez and answer the question that follows. i let myself lie back in deep waters, my arms out like jesus' on his cross, and instead of sinking down like i'd always done, magically, that night, i could stay up, floating out past the driveway, past the gates, in the black ford, papi grim at the wheel, winding through the back roads, stroke by difficult stroke, out on the highway, heading toward the coast. which literary device is used in the comparison between the speaker's experience of fleeing the country and floating in the ocean? i let myself lie back in deep waters, my arms out like jesus' on his cross, and instead of sinking down like i'd always done, magically, that night, i could stay up, extended metaphor symbolism simile theme
