I bit back my tongue as we entered the store with the forbidden
candies. When my mother finished her shopping, she quietly
plucked a small bag of plums from the rack and put it on the
counter with the rest of the items.
Waverly cries because it is a cold, windy day and she
is out shopping with her mother. Her mother scolds
her to stop crying. When Waverly stops crying, her
mother then gives her candy as a reward.
Waverly sees some candy at a local store and begins

the candy

Her mother tells her to stop crying. The next time
they go out shopping, Waverly stays quiet and her
mother buys her the candy
