Everybody has beliefs and opinions, yet journalists have to set these aside and be as objective as possible. Why is this objectivity so essential for journalists? What would happen if they did not have it?
The press is sometimes referred to as “The Fourth Estate,” meaning it is like a fourth branch of government and that it has a role in balancing the other branches. How does freedom of the press make this role possible? Give two reasons why this is the case.
