Summary:
The Book Summary of Moon at Nine

“Moon at Nine,” was written by Deborah Ellis in Tehran, Iran in the 1980s. Moon at Nine is an account of insider facts, fearlessness, love, and misfortune.
The book has two main characters, Farrin and Sadira. Farrin is a fifteen year-old girl who goes to a school for gifted girls. She keeps her special kinds of mysteries endures the provocation of the class menace, and attempts to live as tranquil and mediocre of a daily existence as could reasonably be expected. Yet, when Sadira joins her class, everything changes.
Sadira is very funny, wildly emotional, intelligent, and outgoing; she and her friend become unable to be separated, but as their state of spending friendly time with someone else deepens into romance. Their relationship takes a dangerous turn because it is against the law to be lesbian in Iran; the punishment is death, so they keep their love secret. However, the girls are discovered and captured by Ayatollah Khomeini (the Iranian presidency). President
The girls commit to keep quiet concerning their affection, but once they are found by Ayatollah Khomeini, they face a grave price for it. After that, Farrin’s mom and dad told Ahmad (Farrins driver) to pretend to be Farrins husband to save her and Sadira out of jail by paying lots of money and signing some documents for Farrin and Sadira. Then, Ahmad traveled with the girls to Afghanistan.
In summary, Sadira draws out the best characteristics of Farrin, and soon the girls’ kinship develops into even a stronger relationship. Their story reflects the hardships of being involved in such political and religious activities, although the girls want to make a big change.
