Authors write very differently some use the sad events to make a good story and some of the authors use only happy events. Others will use their main characters anguish to make them selves push them farther while others just wait for a other character to rescue them. Some people view the characters sad events as being a downer but the author of that story thinks it increases the value of the characters story.
