Choose one of these two options to get started with performing a scene on stage. 1.If you have peers, friends, or family members who are willing and able to participate in a performance, then select a scene that contains multiple characters. You will direct and perform in the scene. You may use the play Trifles from this unit if you would like, or you may select a scene from another play that you have read or that you would like to read.
2.If you will not be able to perform with a group, then select a monologue from a play of your choice and perform it on stage. A monologue is a long speech given by an actor on stage. You may use the play Trifles from this unit if you would like, or you may select a scene from another play that you have read or that you would like to read. Here are some plays that contain interesting monologues:
William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet
August Wilson’s Fences
Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich’s The Diary of Anne Frank
Note the option you chose in the answer space below. Also, provide a description of the scene you chose to perform. Copy and paste the scene into the student dropbox so that your teacher has a script for reference.
