Read the excerpt from “Albert Schweitzer: A Life of Service and Sacrifice.” In 1953, when Albert had been serving the world for forty-eight of his seventy-eight years, the world decided to serve him. He was granted the Nobel Peace Prize. Albert traveled to Norway to accept the award.
