This assignment is to be done after reading "The Prologue of The Canterbury Tales" by Geoffrey Chaucer. Using the information under the title WRITING TO SOURCES in your online My Perspectives textbook, you will
draft and write a brief academic response to Edward Condren's criticism of Chaucer. You will answer the
question: Do you agree that the poet's (Chaucer) main intent is to capture life in all of its glory, or do you
suspect that that he has an agenda of reform or censure? Your response must:
• be at least three (3) paragraphs in length (6-8 sentences per paragraph)
• must contain at least three of the six concept vocabulary words (underline them)
• must have a clear introduction which begins with your claim (agree or disagree)
• relevent evidence to back up your claim (with at least two direct quotations from "The Prologue"
properly cited)
• a conclusion that sums up your argument
• avoid contractions, slang (gonna, wanna, etc), text-language, and using "you"
spellcheck and grammarcheck your final draft before submitting
