Nonetheless, the claim made in this essay was states in the last sentence of the first paragraph, "Shakespeare is able to demonstrate that a balance of both ideals is necessary for a happy and successful life."

The first quote shown is: "Fetch me that flower; the herb I shew'd thee once. The juice of it on sleeping eye-lids laid Will make or man or woman madly dote Upon the next time creature that it sees"

This is purely anecdotal, they recall its effects because they had once ate it.
