Characterization Writing Assignment Choose a main character from either The War of The Wall or
your own choice of fiction story or film, and compose an
essay (at least three well-written paragraphs) reflecting on
the characterization of the main character. Use STEAL to
help guide your reflection.
Some Tips to Remember: This assignment is your first
opportunity of the school year to demonstrate your skills as a
writer, so take your time while writing. It is standard for each
of your paragraphs to be at least 5-8 sentences long. Your
paragraphs should include an introduction, a body paragraph
with evidence from the text or film to support your reflection,
and a conclusion.
When finished, turn in your assignment for grading.
