Judge Danforth believed that the girls were right so he got mad when someone questioned them because then they were questioning him about his authority. Reverend Hale believed that the girls were lying in the first place so he questioned them and everyone on their side. That´s why he left the court when they started believing that Mr. Proctor was doing the devils work.
