Which moral dilemma do the characters in “Subha” face? Subha must choose whether to marry Pratap or a wealthy businessman from western India. The parents must either deceive a man into marrying their daughter or keep her with them forever. Pratap must decide if he will go against caste and marry Subha or watch her leave to marry a stranger. Subha’s sisters must decide whether or not to tell the handsome stranger that their sister cannot speak.
