CHAPTER 20

Tall Rock is where the cormorants nest, and Karana kills several so she can make a skirt. In Black Cave, Karana and Rontu discover the skeletons of people who died long ago, and she vows to never return. Shortly after, the Aleuts come back to the island. This time, they have a girl with them.

CHAPTER 21

Kara found the white dolphin calf got trapped in a fishing net and in distress. With help from his father and the marine rescue team, the calf was moved to a tidal pool but becomes separated from the mother dolphin. In an unexpected night dive, Kara finds the mother dolphin and leads it to the tidal pool.
