Situational irony

Situational irony is when the exact opposite happens of what you expect. In this text, the author tells us Tim Kylie is a vegan for a long time and that he’s never tried his own dish. At the end of the short story he finally ate his own dish. This is situational irony because the readers would have never expected Tim trying his own dish considering that he’s been a vegan for a long period of time.
