You are now Chaucer, and you are writing a general prologue to a modern-day Canterbury Tales. You must choose a minimum of six (6) characters (but no more than ten) from modern-day society (do not name specific people; simply describe them. EX: The Slacker, etc.) Your job is to create a general prologue in which all these characters meet at a specific location of your choice (McDonald’s, gas station, Giant, a party, etc.). Your paper is to include an introductory paragraph that establishes a setting and introduces the narrator (who is not one of the six; the narrator does not have to be an active participant in the action). Your paper will also include paragraphs that introduce your characters. These paragraphs must include at least five (5) personality characteristics and five (5) physical characteristics. Consider how Chaucer addresses positive vs. negative qualities in his prologue. Try to emulate his approach to positive and negative qualities in your paper. Your paper is to also include a concluding paragraph that draws the situation to a close and gives plausible reason for the action to cease.
