5. What is the author’s point of view about a woman’s role in marriage? Cite evidence from the text in your answer.

In this text, the author subtly describes a woman as a home keeper. One who should have adequate knowledge in managing the family's economy. "good economy and judicious housewifery must also be added or your happiness can by no means be complete"

A woman, according to the author, must be submissive and give due respect to her husband. This is a role of submission, obedience, and respect. The author emphasizes this by making the biblical quote "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord"

closer examination, however, finds the mcdonald's kind of job highly uneducational in several ways. far from providing opportunities for entrepreneurship (the lemonade stand) or self- discipline, self-supervision, and self-scheduling (the paper route), most teen jobs these days are highly structured — what social scientists call “highly routinized.”  

true, you still have to have the gumption to get yourself over to the hamburger stand, but once you don the prescribed uniform, your task is spelled out in minute detail.

the true goal we seek is far above and beyond the ugly field of battle. when we resort to force, as now we must, we are determined that this force shall be directed toward ultimate good as well as against immediate evil. we americans are not destroyers — we are builders.
