Johnny had gone for supplies and returned with food, cigarettes, soap, peroxide, a deck of playing cards, and the book Gone with the Wind. In an effort to blend in and disguise their appearances, Johnny cuts and bleaches Ponyboy's hair. Ponyboy then cuts Johnny's hair.

Because they were following Dallys orders, they stayed inside the church for five days, passing time by playing cards and reading Gone with the Wind. They continue until Dally shows up and brings them back in touch with the outside world

5. it would be sadness at the loss of youth because the title itself tells us it's about age so it couldn't be about regret. and the tone just sounds sad, not angry.
