This week you are to write a short essay (INTRODUCTION, 2 BODY PARAGRAPHS, CONCLUSION) on answering the question “What is Heroism”?

Ponyboy’s response to the statement that they must be angels or professional heroes, was “No, we’re greasers.. You know like hoods, JD’s. Johnny is wanted for murder and Dallas has a record with the fuzz a mile long”

What makes a hero? How does this “act of heroism” affect them? Can you be a “hood” and a hero?
