The following passage is from page 21 of the book Almonds by Emelia Best:

Almonds have many nutritional benefits. They contain a high amount of monounsaturated fat, which is actually great for your health. This type of fat helps lower bad cholesterol, and studies show that it can significantly lower your risk for heart disease.
Almonds are also rich in magnesium, a mineral that promotes blood flow and controls blood sugar levels. As a result, people with high blood pressure may eat almonds to bring their blood pressure to a healthier level. Eating almonds also prevents diabetes.
In addition to monounsaturated fat and magnesium, almonds contain calcium, fiber, protein, vitamin E, and potassium. All of these substances keep your body healthy. So, the next time you feel like having a snack, reach for a handful of almonds. They will do your body much good!
