The feud between these two families is the central plot of the entire play. This play is filled with various symbols and themes. This is one of those idealistic plays of Shakespeare, which can improve our ideas over drama and tragedy writing.

Explanation:

'Conflict' between these families and their arguments that start from their servants till the heads of the families is what keeps the play alive through out. Shakespeare's ideas of how younger generation has to suffer, because of older rifts and rivalry that have started a feud between two families, two communities and an entire clan of human being showed the world that these are merely irreversible, if started.

Montague's son, the male protagonist of the play, kills a boy from the rival family in a feud. This creates a bigger havoc in the rival family and the Madame of the Capulet family cries in vengeance of the boy who killed her brother's child. This is the main sequence of how violence is equal to violence showed as justice in the play.
