What is Hope? ACE Response
Directions: Pick two of the three CommonLit texts you read today-- “Can you still have hope when life seems hopeless?,” “Dark History of Rwandan Genocide,” and “Hope is the Thing with Feathers”-- and compare the two arguments that the texts make regarding hope in a 5-8 sentence ACE response.

In my opinion, Hope is this feeling. Yes, it can be false, but it is always there for you. Cheering you up when you are sad, making you feel better. Even when it looks like it can't get better, trust that it will. At least, that is what hope is like to me.

in the line from the end of the story "the cask of the amontillado," by edgar allan poe, the narrator has put the last stone on the wall, thus sentencing fortunato to death. just like that montresor associates his feeling of sickness to the humidity of the catacombs, and seems to be glad he has taken revenge on fortunato. however, montresor's last words are "in pace requiescat," which mean "may he rest in peace." as a result, it can be inferred that he hides or does not want to assume his guilt or remorse for killing fortunato in such a horrible way.
