The only way to be truly independent and self-sufficient is to live alone. When you think about it, people spend most of their lives living under the same roof as family, friends, or loved ones. The result is that they often depend on family members or roommates to pay the bills, cook meals, and clean the house. The importance of learning to do these things for oneself cannot be stressed enough. As an opportunity for personal growth, living alone is an important step in becoming an adult.
