Peter Sellers

Peter Sellers, the great actor and comedian, was born in 1925 in England. Sellers's parents were theatrical performers, and he spent most of his childhood traveling with his parents and watching them perform. During his travels, Sellers met many people and observed them with great interest. From a very young age, Sellers learned music and dance and had acquired the ability to play different musical instruments.
Sellers joined the Royal Air Force at the age of 18 and spent most of his free time performing for his military colleagues, imitating senior officers and entertaining people. He finally started working as a radio comedian after several failed attempts to launch himself as a stand-up comedian. It was the radio comedy show, The Goon Show, that helped him gain entry into the movies.
After doing a few minor roles, Sellers got his first break with the movies I'm All Right Jack and The Mouse That Roared. The role of the French police inspector in The Pink Panther made him popular. However, critics consider Dr. Strangelove to be Sellers's finest film, which received wide critical acclaim and for which he won many awards. In the 1960s, Sellers's health began to decline, which affected his career. It was only in the 1970s that Sellers received public attention again with The Return of the Pink Panther. Peter Sellers's contribution to the field of art as a musician, actor, and comedian was immense.
