7. Page 461, Exposition: Explain the paradox that Miller refers to in the final section of the exposition. A paradox is a statement that seems to contradict itself, but may nevertheless suggest an important truth. How does the paradox illuminate the playwright’s perspective on his subject?

In the final section of the exposition, Miller describes Salem, a community that was believed to maintain, peace, raise up the hopes of the people, unite the individuals, as a community that now has selfish interests, shatters the hopes of individuals and full of political aggrandizement.

This implies that the more the community attempt to bring the people together, the more disunited they become and the more they want to exterminate witchcraft, the more enmity they cause.

Girls who were actually witches in in Salem were not hunted while they kept going after girls who they only perceived were witches. He describes his as paradoxical.

to kill a mockingbird basically is about a lawyer who goes against everything in a racist society like at the time of this novel, to defend a black man accused of sexual abuse. in the bible there are cases like that of joseph, who was accused by the woman of potifar, for a crime similar to that of tim robbinson, of that novel (genesis 39: 1-20). at this point we see that god also provides the escape to joseph, who was accused unjustly, but in his time, and through his attitude, his faith was not shaken, and god provided the solution. the perspective of god also written in the bible and not pay evil with evil. (ephesians 4: 32, 1 thessalonians 5: 15, 1 peter 3: 9). atticus, the lawyer, demonstrated during this lee novel, empathy, love of neighbor, understood the situation of this accused man. he went against everything in that society, and stood in favor of that man, for the injustice committed. this shows the empathy, the love taught by christ, in some passages that speak of love and justice in the sermon of the beatitudes (especially verses 6 and 7 of matthew 5).

sorry i was debating over answering this question or not, but i do believe it is a sin to be gay. in the beginning, god created man and he created women to be a for man. there are many "political" views on this topic but i believe the bible is right. in the kjv bible, leviticus 18: 22, god talks about how it it is an abomination for women to be with women and man to be with man. god knows that everybody is a sinner, and he gives everyone a chance to repent. i'm not forcing god's word on anybody, but i do believe it is a sin. no matter the sin, as long as you repent, god is willing to forgive, you just have to accept him as your lord and savior.
