There are many reasons to disagree, but we can rebuttal almost every single one.

One extremely common argument against war heroes is the horrendous war crimes that they may commit against citizens of certain countr(ies). However, we must remember that it is war, and the laws of civilized society typically does not apply at a war-torn area. Also, the military must use any means to keep control and win the war. There are channels for issuing judgement, and reporting is not a good way to do so. If it is individual soldiers, then they should be court-martial. If it is higher-in-commands, then they should be fired and replaced. Everything done will have it's consequences, whether positive or negative, and we must remember that we are all humans, prone to mess up.

Another common argument is the loss of lives in the war, or the personal "why does he come back and not my son/daughter. This generally is not an attack on the actual hero, but is more of a personal yearning to see a loved one again. This does not mean that that soldier is a bad one, or even a good one, however, we must remember that war have always tore families apart, and no matter how we treat the problems, wars will always occur.

Of course, there are many other arguments, but they can each be rebuttaled.
