The cues are triggers causing people to fall into a habitual reaction, in other words, they are the “stimuli that launch brain into a pre-programmed "zombie mode", also known as  a "habit". The brain simply follows this specific cue, which could be in any of these cue´s classification: an specific time or hour of a day, specific reactions to other people in regards, an emotional state or the way you feel, an immediately preceding action, that is something that just happened, or an specific location. A cue of these kind acts as a powerful reminder, and gets you engaged in a determined unconscious behavior or response that can vary in length.

The cues are considered as the chunking elements that help connect the neural pattern with the automation of a frecuently practiced activity, what we call a "habit" or zombie mode".

Although habits or zombie mode is an energy saver for us, sometimes the cues prompted negative responses that lead people to negative or painful results, in that case, it will be necessary to overcome them or harness your zombie, overriding parts of them and develop a few new ones, changing your reaction to a cue, once you aknowledge what category it falls into, which sometimes is not that obvious.
