Hamlet Act III
FIRST
"To be, or not to be"
This is one of the most famous solliloquies in literature. Hamlet talks about whether it is better to exist or not. It's got lots of deep reflections.
SECOND
"Ophelia rejected by Hamlet"
This scene is set by Claudius and Polonious, they are trying to understand the reason behind Hamlet's madness. So they spy on him and Ophelia, in this conversation, Hamlet tells Ophelia that he doesn't love her.
THIRD
"The play within the play"
Actors (directed by Hamlet) perform a play in which they show what Hamlet thinks that happened to his father. This play within the play is an attempt of Hamlet to see the reaction of King Claudius and discover whether he is guilty of the murder of Hamlet's father or not.
FOURTH
"Claudius attempts prayer"
Hamlet follows King Claudius trying to kill him, but since he starts praying Hamlet resolves to kill him when he is doing something bad so that he doesn't go to heaven.
