after reading the various sections from the poem “song of myself” by walt whitman, determine two or more themes or central ideas of the text and analyze their development over the course of the various sections of the text. what message(s) is the author trying to convey? what did you take away from the poem.
hint: remember the characteristics of american romanticism.
construct a written response in which you analyze how the various sections of “song of myself”, work together or build on one another to offer complex themes.
