Plot summary for esperanza risinge

About a girl whos dad died and so her and her mom had to escape to California as her 2 uncles are trying to marry her mom for her rep. when there they work in a camp area in order for food & a home. she meets friends there and she tries to save enough money for her grandma to come. her mother gets sick due to a sandstorm so esperanza and the people around her help by standing by her side. esperanza tries to make enough money to get her mom medicine. during this time strikes go on as well as some "festivals". later on esperanza finds out she will go to school soon and miguel loses his job but they all stick together and in the end they all are happy
