dog and rooster were great friends. they had lived on a farm together happily for a long time but then decided that they wanted to see the world. so far, they had traveled for a week and had seen beautiful mountains, hills, and valleys. they had enjoyed seeing new places and learning new things.

now, they had arrived in a different part of the country where they did not know any animals. a light rain had fallen for most of the morning, but the sun was peeking through the clouds. the friends walked into a large meadow that was dotted with oak and maple trees.
