video games has increase children's self-confidence and self-esteem as they master games. video games can also teach important skills or address serious issues. video games have a negative and positive affect on our society. it increases aggressive behavior, aggressive related thoughts. but it can also increase kids self confidence and more.

video games have been around since the early 1970s. the history of video games goes all the way back to the 1930’s when the first coin operated entertainment was invented. they were played on massive computers connected to vector displays, not analog televisions. ralph h. baer conceived the idea of a home video game in 1951. the early 1970s also saw the advent of personal computers and mass-produced gaming consoles become a reality. some of the first violent video games included “mortal kombat, street fighter, and wolfenstein 3d” which had amazing effects that were top notch at the time. since then every decade video games have become more violent in nature with strong language and realistic to suit society today. since the 1980s, video gaming has become a popular form of entertainment and a part of modern popular culture in most parts of the world. however, the first game system designed for commercial home use did not emerge until nearly three decades later, when ralph baer and his team released his prototype, the “brown box,” in 1967. the “brown box” was a vacuum tube-circuit that could be connected to a television set and allowed two users to control cubes that chased each other on the screen.

in fact playing violent video games are easily blamed by the media and some experts as the reason why some young people become violent or commit extreme anti-social behavior. video games can even kill brain cells and interrupt a person's sleep. studies show that people playing "shooter games" damage the hippocampus area of their brain. the industry has also effected society. of course, there are some benefits of using video games, but there are also many negative effects of the use of video games, especially on today’s youth. according to npd, ninety-one percent of children from the age of two to seventeen play video games (camp, 2011). just like 3 or more hours of video game play can cause health issues, it can also cause vision issues. while playing video games for short times (1 hour or so) does have its benefits, playing for more than 3 hours can cause computer eye syndrome, eye pain, issues with focusing, and even headaches. video game addiction, like alcohol and drug addiction, is an impulse disorder. gamers rely on their ability to play video games at all times. if they are unable to get their "fix," they start to experience irritability and aggression. rather than relying on a substance, gamers rely on the fantasy world that gaming provides to escape their own reality.

there are many cognitive skills you can learn from gaming such as quick thinking or processing information quickly and the skill to think about a number of things, at the same time. players are able to communicate with each other all the discoveries, struggles and achievements they have obtained with friends. video games teach children the value of teamwork and being a part of something larger than themselves. video games has increase children's self-confidence and self-esteem as they master games. gaming at a young age can develop critical thinking skills. in other words, kids who pay attention to a string of events in a video game are very likely to apply this to their real lives later on. while it can be hard as parents to look beyond the day-to-day struggles with gaming kids, it’s to hear about the potential upsides. these positive effects of gaming break down into three basic psychological needs young people have, which researchers refer to as competence, autonomy, and relatedness. furthermore, video games have also been seen as a great for children who are suffering with psychological problems such as inferiority complex and lack of self-confidence. cording to some gamers.
