Five years ago, I was in the process of learning Chinese. I believed that it was going to be easy due to the fact that I was bilingual and somehow I had already go thru the learning process required to learn a new language. Suddenly I found out that the characters, pronunciation and vocabulary was harder than I thought. For many months I spent hours and hours trying to learn the language but the results were not evident.

I was seriously planing to give up when I meet a beautiful co-worker who came to receive training in new technologies that we sold to her company, the only problem was that she was Chinese and my ability to communicate with her was very limited. We did become friends but my desire to speak fluently made me continue learning the language with more determination than ever. In less than a year my ear had the ability to understand Chinese and I was able to speak my mind in a good long conversation.

We keep in touch for over one year when I bought a ticket to Shanghai and after spending a few weeks there I finally told her how I felt about her. She accepted to begin a relationship with me and after 8 months we got married.
