Personification- is when you give an animal or object qualities or abilities that only a human can have.

Examples:

The car complained as the key was roughly turned in its ignition.

My flowers were begging for water.

The moon smiled at the stars in the sky.

The attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something non-human, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
