Explanation: In Chapter 5 of Machiavelli's "The Prince", the author describes the steps people take when they join rebellions and he describes the emotions of people in a conquered republic to inform his readers. In the first chapters of "The Prince", Machiavelli describes the different types of principalities. Chapter 5, is dedicated to informing how to rule principalities or cities which were governed under their own laws before they were annexed. Machiavelli states that a Prince should be careful when governing these type of territories and describes how people react when joining rebelions.

cassius, casca, and their allies plant false documents to manipulate brutus to join their cause to remove caesar. after doing so, they visit brutus at night in his home to persuade him of their views. there they plan caesar's death. brutus is troubled but refuses to confide in his devoted wife, portia. on 15 march, caesar's wife, calpurnia, urges him not to go to the senate. she has had visionary dreams and fears the portents of the overnight storms.
