By a landscape that reworks itself nightly, do you mean that it literally shape-shifts nightly? If so, you could write about the ocean.

Example :

The azure waves crash and tumble. The pull of the silvery moon leaves glimmers upon the water. The true depth of such a wonderful and deadly beast remains yet unknown. But any who gaze upon the magnificence of the ocean will see that it has been here before their time, before anyone's time.   Sailors will either find wonderful solace or tumultuous peril, depending on what mood the ocean is in. For the ocean is a living  breathing entity and is the very definition of timeless beauty, and all who disrespect it should be devoured beneath its powerful undulations.
