The “Rites of passage” refers to a significant life change, in this case… After reading these poems what has changed in you? Have you felt something different while reading and analyzing these poems? You can include this as the conclusion of your essay. Also, be sure to include how life has changed when turning 10, in the Billy Collins poem and how it feels to be a 14-year-old, according to Lorde’s poem.  

You can start your essay with the tittle of your chosen selection, in this case they are: Hanging Fire and On Turning Ten.
