An example would be a story with no dialogue at all the story we feel long and there will be a long time until you understand what happens fully. Also a story with a lot of dialogue will probably be action packed and easy to understand what is happening.

Dialogue reveals information about characters. it reveals how people think about a character. What people think possibly shows personality. Another thing is that it could show physical features to someones body.

Dialogue can either speed up the story or slow it down, depending on what your characters are talking about.
