The emotions of a husband who had just lost his wife whom he loved passionately reflects in the poem “Annabel Lee” by Edger Allen Poe. The loss he underwent through marks an impertinent place in his life and the poem too. He even blames the angles to conspire against the couple who were so deep in love with each other.

Went envying her and me—

The poet possesses a totally different view about death altogether. Even after losing her wife he feels that though he has lost her by her body, but their soul will ever be separated from each other. He understands that death is inevitable. It will happen to everyone some or the other day. Though in great pain and distress he still finds himself falling for Annabel.
