In these lines, we encounter a description of Heorot, the great hall. The text highlights several of Heorot's characteristics. It tells us that it was "the greatest of hall-buildings" (its greatness). Also, with the phrases "rings he lavished" and "treasure at banquet" we learn that everything in the hall was elegant and full of splendour. Finally, with the phrase "towered the hall up," we learn that the hall was extremely large.
