Explanation:

The beggar (which is really Odysseus) is made welcome in the palace. The suitors are reluctant, but they give him food, so that he won't starve. Antinous, however, is angry and insults the beggar. Without considering this action, Odysseus retorts, which flares Antinous even more. He is so mad that he throws a tantrum, during which he throws a stool at the beggar. Even the other suitors disagree with this action, as does everybody else at the palace. Penelope gets wind of Antinous' doings and summons the beggar to question him.
