If the two cylinders are in the fully retracted position, depressing a START pushbutton will cause the feed cylinder rod to extend.
When the feed cylinder rod becomes fully extended, the press cylinder
rod starts to extend. A pressure switch detects the pressure in the cap
end of the press cylinder.
When this pressure attains 600 kPa
(or 80 psi), a timer is started. This timer is used to delay the retraction
of the press cylinder rod for a period of 3 s.
After the delay, both cylinder rods retract.
When the cylinder rods become fully retracted, they stop and wait for
the operator to start another cycle.
